這幾天看到一篇National Jewleler的文章，上頭提到了就在去年，紅色的尖晶石正式入列成為八月的生日石，原本八月的生日石為橄欖石。

 August 10, 2017 August gained a new birthstone last year, and everyone warmly embraced spinel as a colorful alternative to peridot.

Peridot isn't green with envy, either, as it is having a fashionable moment too. Jewelry designers are taking the once-dated gemstone and creating pieces of jewelry that men and women of all ages will want to give and receive.

Here are a few Style File selections to share with those celebrating their birthday this month, including National Jeweler's very own Editor-in-Chief.

 

 

紅色尖晶石，自古就以類似於紅寶的紅色，成份上也很接近，所以活躍在古時候的貴族寶石市場，有時稱巴斯拉紅寶石。最有名的是英國皇冠上的大克拉數紅寶石，後來經過鑑定，發覺是紅色尖晶石。古代的寶石鑑定技術沒有當今普遍，但是也要有一定品質的寶石，才夠資格成為皇室寶石。

寶啾寶石坊在這幾年，從各大寶石交易集散市場觀察到因為有色寶石近幾年的漲幅，尖晶石的價位也翻了很多倍。在婚戒的設計及挑選上，亦是一個不錯的選擇。
